Joe Scamchin is Scum

This is not the only article on how scum this guy is.  Just the one the inspired this post.

Scamchin is a great example of why politicians should only make the median income of their district.  I bet WV rises quickly from the bottom of things when Scamchin has to live just above poverty.

lemon Rinds

1. Scrub oven, stove, microwave, grill

2. Clean sinks counter tops

a Quick Limoncello

Generally, this will be about 2 to 3 hours. I love doing this. The whole kitchen smells like lemons during and for hours afterwards. It's always so fresh and clean smelling. There are many uses for the rinds as well, so stay tuned for some of those.

Needs:

1/5 of vodka or everclear

1 bag of lemons 3 lbs at least.

2 cups sugar

2 cups water

Tools:

Cutting board

Cheese grater or zester

Cutting knife 

Juicer or press

Funnel

2 empty wine bottles

Sieve

First was and rinse the lemons, tools, and empty bottles. Next zest all the lemons. The process helps break them up a little bit, and makes them easier to juice. Maybe even leave them out for a day or 2 after you buy them so they ripen a bit more.

Don't worry about going to the white part. Trust the sugar you add later. Put the zest in your 2 bottles.  Now start juicing the lemons. I cut them all in half first and then do 3 or 4 halves before I start pouring into the bottles. Keeps this up until all of the lemons are juiced, alternating between each bottle. 

 

Now open your alcohol and split between the 2 bottles as best you can. You might have some room left over, you can stuff in a little of your lemon rinds, if you dice them up.

You can take a full half rind and scrub your stove, oven, microwave, or grill as well. It will cut through the grease. Just wipe down with a wet cloth afterwards. Now, cork, seal, etc. And let stand for at least 2 weeks. Longer the better. Keep them out of sunlight. I put one in the fridge and one in the pantry high up and in the  back.

When you cant take it anymore and need some, you have 2 tasks. 1. Drain with the sieve the lemon alcohol combination, and 2. Make some simple syrup. I like to dissolve 1 1/2 cups of sugar to 1 cup of water. Some people like it less sweet. You make as much of this as you want and to what tastes you want. Dissolve this thoroughly before adding to the alcohol mixture. After you do, shake very enthusiastically.  

 

Most times for 2 bottles I make 3 portions of simple syrup. That means 4 1/2 cups of sugar and 3 cups of water.
