somehow this is sleep Joe's fault

I can't wait to see the mental gymnastics performed by the White House to explain how and why this is joe biden's fault.

jobless numbers out

It is only a matter of time before the numbers are made up and the math don't math any more.

We will see how long the strong Biden economy can withstand Drump.

energy taxes affected by tariffs

Maine energy costs go up

The Reddit post discusses a 25% increase in electricity exports from Ontario to the United States in response to U.S. trade policies under former President Trump. However, the post was removed by the moderators of the r/Maine subreddit for not being directly related to Maine. Some users still mentioned that while the issue is not directly linked to Maine, New Brunswick, which is closer to Maine, plays a significant role in electricity imports for the state.

these surveys are so stupid

Where do they get data like this? Who's only paying $300 a month for child care? Especially those who have to have infants cared for. This surveys are wildly out of touch with reality

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/we-are-in-a-crisis-now-childcare-costs-outpace-inflation-133034183.html

Costs for day care and preschools ran higher than headline inflation in March, but parents have been struggling with this issue for years.

6 is a very small number to claim wide spread fraud, but maybe it is enough to take a bigger look???

ProPublica closely examined six loans that were part of CMBS in recent years to see if their data resembles the pattern described by the whistleblower. What we found matched the allegations: The historical profits reported for some buildings were listed as much as 30% higher than the profits previously reported for the same buildings and same years when the property was part of an earlier CMBS.

Populism Round 2.0

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/05/12/pandemic-will-fuel-populism-that-sent-trump-white-house/

The brunt of the damage is not being borne by the elites who work in the information economy but by those at the middle and the bottom of the economic ladder — the forgotten Americans who were finally doing better under President Trump until this crisis arrived. Before the pandemic, the U.S. economy had added a half-million manufacturing jobs and low-wage workers.......

Jobs situation worse than advertised

https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2020-04-30/jobs-collapse-is-deeper-than-the-government-says

So, does this mean in reality almost half are unemployed now?
The most recent government data are for mid-March, and report a 72.7% employment rate for 18- to 64-year-olds. As of mid-April, according to RPS, this rate dropped to 55.8%. That stunning 23% decline marks the lowest employment rate for the U.S. since 1962.

Global growth down

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/imf-world-economic-outlook-slowest-global-growth-since-crisis-130017182.html

The IMF advises that growth will be down on many advanced nations. Their outlook for the US is better than expected by the Fed, but is still below Drumpf's promise of 4%. Too bad he will never learn that their are different leadership needs depending on the position. You cant bludgeon your way through everything.

Recession Looming

It does beg the question though, that if we keep talking about it, do we bring it about?

a-manufacturing-recession-could-cost-trump-a-second-term

In 22 states—including electorally important ones like Wisconsin and Pennsylvania—the number of people working in factories actually fell in the first seven months of this year, according to figures compiled by the Economic Innovation Group, a think tank.

This isn’t what Trump promised. From his trade policy to tax cuts and deregulation, his grand economic vow was to bring factories home. By unraveling trade deals such as Nafta, taking on China, and deploying tariffs like economic cruise missiles, Trump’s “America First” agenda was supposed to boost growth in an iconic sector of the economy.

budget gap grows

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-07-11/u-s-budget-gap-widens-to-747-billion-in-9-months-through-june

Trump once said he would eliminate the $22 trillion federal debt, but the annual budget deficit is on track to top $1 trillion a year -- swollen by bipartisan spending increases and his tax cuts -- with no real expectation of a change in trajectory any time soon.
