So National Christian Organization helped with this bill. I love the fact that these hypocrites claim to follow the teachings of Christ, but yet find that it is OK to murder anyone.

Chick-Fil-A helps fund this organization.

So once again the child in chief has his ego bruised and needs to pick a fight. One of these days the stain will be over.

Boris looses Brexit

In all, 21 Conservatives defied Johnson and voted against him, effectively sacrificing their careers in politics as his officials immediately began expelling the rebels from the party for failing to obey the premier’s orders. Rebels punished in this way included former Chancellor Philip Hammond.

EPA Aims To Roll Back Limits On Methane Emissions From Oil And Gas Industry

https://www.npr.org/2019/08/29/755394353/epa-aims-to-roll-back-limits-on-methane-emissions-from-oil-and-gas-industry

The Trump administration is proposing to slash restrictions on the oil and gas industry for methane emissions, a greenhouse gas that is a powerful driver of climate change.

The Trump administration argues it would save the oil and gas industry $17 million to $19 million annually in compliance costs. But that's "such a small fraction of the industry total cash flow that it's just laughable," says Harvard University's Steven Wofsy, a professor of atmospheric and environmental science.

Americans Broadly Support Red Flag Laws

https://www.npr.org/2019/08/20/752427922/poll-americans-including-republicans-and-gun-owners-broadly-support-red-flag-law

Strong majorities of Americans from across the political spectrum support laws that allow family members or law enforcement to petition a judge to temporarily remove guns from a person who is seen to be a risk to themselves or others, according to a new APM Research Lab/Guns & America/Call To Mind survey.

These laws, often called extreme risk protection order laws, or red flag laws, have received renewed attention after 31 people were killed during mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio. Variations of these red flag laws are in place in 17 states and the District of Columbia.

U.S. Appeals Court In Chicago Again Upholds Laws Banning Assault Weapons

https://www.npr.org/2019/08/29/755551838/u-s-appeals-court-in-chicago-again-upholds-laws-banning-assault-weapons

The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held that two gun owners, who sued over the gun control measures in the county where Chicago is located, "have not come forward with a compelling reason to revisit" since the last time the same court examined a similar challenge — out of the Chicago suburb of Highland Park, which was also sued after passing an assault weapons ban.

Rebuplican says "Climate Change" and does not burst into flaims

Mitch McConnell is not happy at all about this.

https://www.wired.com/story/senates-transportation-plan-reckons-climate-change/

The bill is a long way from becoming law. It has to go through the House and then through President Trump; lawmakers also will have to figure out where to find those billions of dollars. But for environmental groups, getting this bill out of committee alone is a win. “Republicans have actually said ‘climate change,’ and put money towards it,” says Ann Shikany, who focuses on infrastructure for the National Resources Defense Council. “It’s a fantastic first step.”

Computers destroy Democracy

Big Data Supercharged Gerrymandering. It Could Help Stop It Too
https://www.wired.com/story/big-data-supercharged-gerrymandering-supreme-court

Take what happened in Wisconsin. Republican lawmakers in the state hired a political science professor to devise a regression analysis, which selected the district map that would benefit politicians from their party the most. In the next election after the map was passed into law, in 2012, Republicans won less than half the votes, but more than 60 percent of assembly seats. (The Supreme Court declined to rule on the case and sent it back to a lower court.) In her dissent, Justice Kagan pointed to similar partisan redistricting efforts carried out in Ohio and Pennsylvania around the same time
